It glows!

I wanted to use some of my glow in the dark polish that I haven’t used in way too long. So, I layered on a bright sky blue first. This is a perfect tone for the first week of spring. This is Sally Hansen’s Insta Dry, so it goes on thick.

And, like it said, it dried instantly. Then I added the glow top coat. In daylight it looks just like a sparkly shimmer. But. The glow coat DOESN’T dry instantly. So of course my impatient self couldn’t sit still and I smudged a few fingers. Oh well. Not gonna stress it. Having glowing nails is way cooler than having perfect nails.

chartreuse

This is another color I got as a gift this year. It’s a funky fun summery yellow. Unfortunately, I think I smeared it on too thickly, because it bubbled as you can see. It’s an Insta-Dry bottle. I guess because I thought it would dry so fast, I thought I could glomp it on. Not the case! Oh well, it’s still a fun color!

I have these large “pieces” of things that are supposed to go on nails. I am not sure exactly what they are. Charms? Confetti? They have to be picked up individually with tweezers and placed on the nail. I tried sprinkling them on the nails for this week’s manicure, and it didn’t work well. The pieces are so dense they stand up in the wet polish and still have to be placed and the polish gets waves in it and what not if they are not set down carefully. I was going for a spring collage. The result is more….nursery room? Baby bottle? Lucky charms cereal? I’m not sure, but thy were fun to do and the outcome….unique.

Marbled Easter Egg Nails

Every year around Easter time I get excited to paint my nails like an Easter egg. I typically do’t care much for pastels, or any lighter, subdued colors– except on Easter. Easter and pastels go hand-in-hand.

This year I tried water marbling my nails in an array of pastel colors. It wasn’t a fun process. It tok a long time and the results were inconsistent. However, I am pretty happy with the outcome. They turned out lovely! Just like a spring day. Awwww.

Teal me up

Nothing too crazy to post here, this is just a lovely teal color that I had to put on my nails because spring is here and green is popping up outside everywhere!

Man, I love Sinful colors. Cheap, smooth, long-lasting and easy to apply.

Presents! Presents!

The boy has this awesome mother who likes to give gifts (now I know where he got it from)! For Christmas this year, one of the many things she lavished me with is a new arsenal of nail polishes! Whoohoo!

Above is a holiday gift pack of of 7 different jewel glitter colors from L.A. Colors Color Craze. I am excited to try all of these colors, but I am most excited about the teal glitter (center) which is unlike any other nail polish color I’ve tried yet. I’m also pretty excited about the festive one second to the left that looks like a tub of glitter I used from crafting. Ok, I just realized I had something to say about all the colors. To keep from boring you, I’m going to save these comments for each time I post the outcomes.

The Revlon Nail Art Mood Candy is one I’ve been seeing in all the stores lately. Many times I’ve stopped and started at it, but I haven’t made the move to buy one yet (how did she know?!) The boy claims he didn’t help her with the Christmas presents at all, but sometimes I wonder 😉

This is a glitter topping which looks perfect for springtime, around Easter when pastels really appeal to me. Stay tuned to see this one in action!
