I got some magic mirror nail polish for my birthday. I’d never heard of the company before, Born Pretty. A quick Google search showed me that Born Pretty has all sorts of beauty things, many that are unique, like this mirror nail set. This was a 2-step process. I made it into 4 steps. I applied a base coat first. Then I applied the first step of Born Pretty Mirror Nails. The texture of the silver polish was more like paint. The combination of thin paint and shiny color accentuated every little groove and dent in my nail. I applied several layers, but rather than filling the flaws in, it only accentuated them. Images on the web of this polish are nearly all on acrylic nails, so I think I should smooth out the nails with another polish first the next time I try this. Then I applied the top coat. The second coat did shine the color up more, adding to the mirror effect. However, it only went so far because of the many grooves suddenly noticeable on my nails. The boy warned me that this polish didn’t last. The company said something about it not having strong latch onto the nail or something like that. They weren’t kidding! Within a day, the polish started peeling off in thin sheets, kind of like how skin peels after a sunburn. It was fascinating and fun. Needless to say, the whole do only lasted a couple of days. It’s quick to apply and dry, so it will be easy to do again. I expect better results next time. Stay tuned!
