Random Holiday Nails

I wanted to do a fun winter scene, snowlfakes over a sky blue background and holiday sparkle. In the head, it looked amazing. But then I didn’t want to take the time to stamp snowflakes. So….I did white french tips instead. It turned out looking almost like the blue had chipped rather than a winter french tip. Oh well. You can win them all. I love the festive look of the multicolored confetti overcoat

Holiday Wishes Keep Getting Better

We have plenty of reasons to feel distraught, hopeless and depressed over the state our homes, our country, ourselves. It’s so easy to focus on all of that. But what about spreading cheer? A group of friends covered ourselves in Christmas decorations, tinsel, and lights and rode our bikes around town spreading cheer. We didn’t really mean to, but pretty quickly we realized it meant something. Parents and kids leaned out of this car windows and stopped on the sidewalks to cheer and holler “Merry Christmas!” Some seemed tired and worn and simply said, “thank you.” Thank you? We we’re just having fun, after all. But other people, strangers, seemed to need it too. Seeing other people light up ended up being more fun that dressing up.

I decided my goal for the rest of the week is to sincerely wish at least one stranger and one friend a happy day every day.

This is the best perk of painting my nails. It helps start a conversation that otherwise might not happen. People glance, and it gives me an in, a chance to say hello.

This dark green glitter was a gift from my mom and the bright red glitter was a gift from the bf’s mom. I think they made a lovely pairing for more Christmas color cheer.

Happy holidays

Dear dedicated readers, I know I haven’t been posting in a while.  I’m still painting my nails, and still making them as great as can be, I swear. I noticed a problem with the blogging, however. I wasn’t having fun. Posting only takes a few moments, but it felt like a few moments of work. I just don’t need any more of that in life. Today, I feel like posting, so I am. You’ll know that from here on out, all my posts will be written in fun. I may not post as often, but what I do post will be fun!

This week I decided to celebrate the holidays with red and green chevron’s! All colors and tools used for this look were gifts from the bf’s mom! The Sally Hansen red was a Christmas gift, as where the sticker guides used to make the Chevron shape. The Claw Polish green came recently from her in a Halloween care package. The green is a fun Halloween color, and it glows! It makes a great Christmas color, too, don’t you think?

I am really happy with the outcome. The look is lasting, too. Typing this, I’m a full week into the do, and I only have a small smattering of chipped spots. In fact, I tool these pictures a day or two after finishing them, and they still looked pretty good.

I painted the red first, applied the guides, then added the green on top. I had to apply two thick layers to cover the red. The sticker guides took some of the red polish underneath it, which was the only drawback.
