Christmas toes!

My Christmas nails were so much fun, I decided to do matching Christmas toes.

I did them exactly the same way as the nails. I usually avoid green on the toes because from head height they look moldy. But this totally works and is festive without being moldy!

Christmas nails

After having some snowmen nails, I decided it was time for some Christmas nails. Stay tuned for Santa hats next time! I love getting in the spirit!

The festive, party-themed confetti is from a Color Craze L.A. Colors gift pack that the boy’s mom gave me for Christmas last year. I love the colors in this one! I did have to lay on several thick coats to get this effect, but it dried quickly and didn’t smudge.

Its so hard to find a decent green color. But I finally found one. Love it! This is Pure Ice Free Spirit. I have a feeling it will become a new favorite.

And, the green you see here was achieved with only ONE coat! Can you believe it?!

And of course, I used the awesome CND base and top coats.

Under the Sea

wpid-20140603_100833.jpgI couldn’t decide what I wanted to do this week. The sun is out, the weather is fine, but it’s not just yet summer. I picked these seafoamy colors sort of at a whim, and am just so pleased with the results. I can’t stop staring at my nails and patting myself on the back wtih how pleased I am with such a simple color choice.

I used Sinful Colors Professional 947 Mint Apple. This color is beautiful in its own right. I love the subtle pearl-like shimmer blended with the sea foam green. Then I added L.A. Colors Color Craze Glitter polish.

The glittery overcoat is super fun because it has 2 different sizes of confetti specks which made for a really fun under-water bubbly look. I don’t know what to call the teal-colored glitter, as the bottle doesn’t have any labeling, but it came in a pack that the boy’s mom gave me for Christmas.wpid-20140108_164109.jpg
I really don’t know why I am so obsessed with this. I guess it’s just the perfect color right now. It’s bright and summery, but still mellow and sophisticated. The underwater bubbles are reminiscent of a softly bubbling hot mineral spring in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle.

Purple sparkle

Here the Sephora Wine color was layered below a purple glitter from L.A. Colors. I think it looks great, don’t you?

Tinsel toes

I couldn’t resist trying out one of the new jewel glitter polishes from LA Colors that the boy’s mom got me for Christmas. I tried it on my toes, and I love the unexpected holographic effect so much that I can’t wait to try them on my manicure. I seriously can’t wait! I used a black base, Sinful Colors in inkewell. The effect is totally dimensional. I was expected just a glittery overcoat, but this was quite nice.
I tried a different polish I got a long time ago that is a celestial confetti. It is the same color as the LA Colors, and I thought if they were both kinda sparse, they’d go well together. That is the little moon you see on one toe. Turns out that stuff is way too sparse. The LA Colors looked this good with just one coat.

Presents! Presents!

The boy has this awesome mother who likes to give gifts (now I know where he got it from)! For Christmas this year, one of the many things she lavished me with is a new arsenal of nail polishes! Whoohoo!

Above is a holiday gift pack of of 7 different jewel glitter colors from L.A. Colors Color Craze. I am excited to try all of these colors, but I am most excited about the teal glitter (center) which is unlike any other nail polish color I’ve tried yet. I’m also pretty excited about the festive one second to the left that looks like a tub of glitter I used from crafting. Ok, I just realized I had something to say about all the colors. To keep from boring you, I’m going to save these comments for each time I post the outcomes.

The Revlon Nail Art Mood Candy is one I’ve been seeing in all the stores lately. Many times I’ve stopped and started at it, but I haven’t made the move to buy one yet (how did she know?!) The boy claims he didn’t help her with the Christmas presents at all, but sometimes I wonder 😉

This is a glitter topping which looks perfect for springtime, around Easter when pastels really appeal to me. Stay tuned to see this one in action!

These are 2 fun colors by a tried and true brand, Color and Go. This stuff goes on the nail nice and smooth and dries quickly. I can’t wait to try them all! Check back soon for the results!
